Theme: "The advancement of an international standard for training those who teach in the area of doing philosophy with children" (from the SOPHIA Constitution)
3) Saturday 27th SOPHIA Conference
– Presentations about Philosophy with Children work in Europe
From Portugal - Dr. Maria Rego will give a presentation on:
'Philosophy and Communication'
From Turkey - Dr. Nimet Küçük will give a presentation on:
'Philosophy in Schools in Turkey'
From Belgium - Ms Goedele De Swaef will give a presentation on:
'How to move your governments and politicians towards more support for philosophy in education? (Overview from Flanders/Belgium)'
From England - Ms Pat Hannam will give a presentation on:
'How much do we need to deconstruct in order to build on other's ideas? : Developing theory for 'education for sustainability' in a diverse world.'
From Scotland – Dr. Catherine McCall will give a presentation on:
'Standards in Philosophy with Children'
From France - Ms Isabelle Millon will give a presentation on:
'Philosophizing with children in France and Africa'

4) Sunday 28th & Monday 29th Professional Development for SOPHIA
Network members with Oscar Brenifier:
For
· Developing SOPHIA members' knowledge of different methods within the PwC field
· Developing the skills and understanding of SOPHIA members
· Widening the horizons of SOPHIA members
· Helping with the on-going creation of the SOPHIA community
